Sapphic Sail FAQ

Common questions about booking, onboard life, and our inclusive travel community.

Booking

How do I book a sailing?

Start on the sailing page you're interested in and fill out the booking form. We'll reach out to confirm your details and walk you through the rest. Every booking goes through us directly, no third-party sites.

Can I book through another travel agent or directly with Virgin Voyages?

You can, but you won't have access to our events.

This is the one thing we ask everybody to understand clearly: to participate in any Sapphic Sail event, you have to book through Sapphic Sail. Our private parties, mixers, meetups, and group experiences are only available to sailors booked within our group. If you book outside of us, you're on the ship, but you're not part of what we're doing onboard.

Cancellations & Refunds

What if I need to cancel?

Email us at support@sapphicsail.com as soon as you know. Here's how it works:
Within 7 days of booking: Full refund, no questions asked.
After 7 days: You'll receive a future voyage credit that you can apply to a later Sapphic Sail sailing.
We built it this way on purpose. Life happens, and we'd rather hold your spot for a future trip than have you lose what you put in.

What if I cancel and want to rebook later?

Reach out and we'll help. Keep in mind that if you cancel and rebook, Virgin Voyages charges a $200 fee to re-add you to our group, and that's a cost we're not able to cover.

Do you recommend travel insurance?
Strongly. Our credit policy covers cancellations on our end, but insurance is what protects you for things neither of us can control, like a medical emergency or a missed flight. It's worth it.

Onboard Experience

What's actually included in my fare?

Your cabin, all meals at Virgin's restaurants with no buffet lines, onboard entertainment, fitness classes, and wifi. Plus our welcome mixer and community events.

Cabins

What cabin types are available?
Insider, Sea View, Sea Terrace, and Rockstar Suites. Each sailing page lists what's available and current pricing for both double and single occupancy.

Can I sail solo?
Absolutely, and you'd be in good company. Most of our sailors book solo. We build the schedule around making sure nobody stays a stranger past day one.

Can I book for three or four people?
Yes, by request. Reach out and we'll get you sorted.

Can I change who's in my cabin?
Changes have to be made before your final payment deadline. After that date, Virgin may not allow changes, and any that are possible can carry a fee.

Double-check that every name on your booking matches the passport exactly. Small typos cause real problems at the port.

Our Community

Who is Sapphic Sail for?

Sapphic women. And we center women of color, the way we should have been centered all along. If you've ever been on a trip where you were the only one, or where you were technically welcome but clearly not the point, this was built for you.

Do you charter the whole ship?
No, and we're honest about that. We book group space aboard Virgin Voyages sailings and create our own private events within it. There will be other guests onboard. Our events, though, are just us.

I don't know anybody. Will I feel out of place?
You won't be the only one wondering that, we promise. The majority of our sailors come solo. Day one is built entirely around fixing that, with a welcome mixer, speed friending, and a singles brunch before anybody's settled into groups.

Can I bring my partner?
Of course. Bring her.
